The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) donated 200 pieces of football to the Palawan State University on September 29, 2017, at the PSU President’s Office led by Atty. Edwin B. Gastanes, the Secretary General of the PFF.
The OIC of the Office of the University President, Prof. Marissa S. Pontillas together with the PSU VPAA, Dr. Eva Jimenez and PSU Sports Director, Prof. Sylvanny Delight Gastanes welcomed the PFF Secretary General, Atty. Edwin B. Gastanes together with the President of the Palawan Football Association, Mr. Edmond B. Gastanes.
The Palawan State University on Sept. 4, 2017 formally began its Intramural Meet 2017. Held each year, the Intramurals pits athletes from the different PSU colleges both from the main campus and extramural campuses attempting to win the championship.
In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the Palawan State University through the College of Arts and Humanities (CAH) and Socio-Cultural Affairs Office organized and held an ASEAN Day Celebration on August 8, 2017 at the Performing Arts Center. The event had the theme “Partnering for Change, Engaging the World.”
The Palawan State University in collaboration with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) held a Center Manager Training Workshop on August 1-2, 2017, at the PSU Tiniguiban Campus. The workshop was aimed at providing training for center managers under the TECH4ED Program. The participants for the activity were personnel from the different PSU departments and campuses.
Fifty-eight graduates from the Palawan State University’s Social Work program under the College of Arts and Humanities passed the national licensure exams for Social Workers held in July 2017. The Palawan State University ranked 7th nationwide with a passing rate of 93.55% against the national passing rate of 65.88%. Devie Mae Navarro placed 8th overall in the nationwide rankings.
“Palawan State University is leading in the provision of higher education in Palawan.” These were the words spoken by Dr. Heracleo Lagrada, keynote speaker and former President of then Palawan State College during the opening program of the 2017 Faculty and Staff Conference held by PSU in Puerto Princesa City.
